They have so many things in here worth going in here for. This is a perfect place for a small party. They pretty much have everything that you may need if you want Mexican.

Nothing special - Terrible service by Darlina via Citysearch on 12/30/2011
This USED TO BE a family favorite restaurant for years but the food is now just "EH". Jacala's has ordinary everyday Mexican food you can get at any of the 100s of other Mexican restaurants in this city. The margaritas are so-so &…
Rude and Very Unprofessional On The Phone by 1 who loves to eat via Citysearch on 9/29/2011
Hi: My Husband just returned from Iraq. He wanted some good Tex Mex. Looked to City Search as we normally do. Found Jacala's phone number called to ask questions about menu and pricing.
Lady who answered the phone around 4:15PM or so, was…

San Antonio's Best Mexican Restaurant by MrsMiska via Citysearch on 1/11/2011
My husband and I ate at Jacala over the Christmas holidays and discovered our favorite mexican restaurant in town! We have already been back for another dose of their tasty enchiladas. We learned on our first visit the restaurant has been…
Jacala is the best! by Guest G. via Judy's Book on 1/9/2011
There is a reason Jacala has been around this many years! Great food, pretty restaurant and very eclectic! Our family has been eating there since before I was born and now I take my children!
STAY AWAY!! Owners are Rude and Very Unprofessional by aleys via Citysearch on 11/29/2010
We had our Wedding Reception at this restaurant. Things were rocky from the beginning and kept getting different responses to our questions. We treated all our guests to dinner and after paying the bill, I realized that we were not…
If you like true Mexican/Tex-Mex Food, Read this... by PhoeBridge via Citysearch on 8/4/2010
It's disappointing to read such negative reviews about a San Antonio landmark. If you are a true Mexican food aficionado, like myself, then you don't expect a clean five star restaurant or excellent service typically because there is a…
bad! by pk34 via Citysearch on 5/7/2010
I have been there before, and not been impressed, but this last time I went (about 2 weeks ago) was awful. The grease tasted old, and our server confirmed this by telling us that our tortillas were "fresh from 2 weeks ago." The food is…
Home Cooking at its Best!!!! by Elise P via Insider Pages on 2/14/2010
We love to eat here. Yes they have a revolving door when it comes to wait staff but that has not affected the taste of their food. Their novelty drinks are fair enough but we loooooove their Salsa!!! Keep up the good work!
Excellent service, so-so food by bippy59 via Citysearch on 2/7/2010
Out of a family of 5, no one was impressed with their food. The cheese was not real cheddar. The chili rellano grease tasted old. The service, chips and salsa were fine.
I've Been Going There Since 1974 by pigletpuff71 via Citysearch on 1/10/2010
I've been going since 1974. Have ordered the same meal all these years, the #7 or "Ladies' special." This would be the last meal I would ask for if I was ever on death row. However, they are not the best place for grilled meats. …
Worst dining experiences by Maximilian via Citysearch on 10/16/2009
The experience was embarassing, awkward and humiliating to me and the lady I was with. When I complained the waitperson went to get the manager but the manager never showed up. The food was highly salted to the point that it was inedible…
Will drive from Houston for their tortillas! by CKRene via Citysearch on 10/11/2009
This was our first visit to Jacala. My boyfriend and I came to SA for the weekend and stayed on the River Walk. By the time Sunday came we were tired of the commercialized restaurants and blah food on the River Walk.
As a person who…
Best family Tex Mex in San Antonio by joe1080 via Citysearch on 11/11/2008
Tried it for the first time after reading the reviews to form my own opinion. Family loved it. We found it moderately priced and extremely tasty and family oriented. Best kept secret in San Antonio! Ask for the flour tortillas because…
Simply The Best by KaydenceNoelle via Citysearch on 10/27/2008
We are 3 GENERATIONS of Jacala diners and the food is simply the best we have found anywhere in San Antonio. Living here gives us the opportunity to try many different Tex Mex eateries but we ALWAYS return to Jacala. The flour tortillas…
Best in San Antonio by harrysbc via Citysearch on 10/23/2008
I read the reviews posted and could not believe some people did not like the Green Enchiladas. It is a required taste, but I have to have them at least once/week. I have been eating there for over 30 years and come in from Bulverde just…
