Mediocre Food and rude service by FoodandDine via Citysearch on 9/6/2011

I went here with high expectations. I find that Houston generally has wonderful restaurants. But was I ever dissapointed, and rudely so. Too bad, really. The food was mediocre and some of it cold. The service slow and inattentive. We…

Good food, slightly overpriced by chubbs123 via Citysearch on 7/28/2011

Some creative and unique flavors. Helpful staff.

Another forgotten table on Valentine's Day by CNRG via Citysearch on 2/18/2011

My husband and I experienced something similar to JRPR's evening.\r \r We've dined at Charivari before and wanted to spend Valentine's evening at a nice restaurant. (Even though the atmosphere is simplistic and not what I consider…

I think they forgot about our table by JRPR via Citysearch on 2/15/2011

So disappointing. \r \r I went with my husband for Valentines Day dinner. We had read good reviews so were excited about the meal. We were greeted in an enthusiastic manner. We ordered our meals and drinks. Then...everyone was MIA. …

You are got to be kidding me! by hfood via Citysearch on 2/5/2011

Shocked to say the least? in the most unpleasant way! As true gourmands who have traveled many continents we were so delighted to discover and experience Zagat?s only ?29? for Houston in food regardless of the ?20? in ambiance, if that. …

My Favorite Restaurant in Houston---Period by johnnybob23 via Citysearch on 8/19/2010

Chef Shuster and his wife Maria have continued to surprise me every time we have dined at Charivari over the last several years. My latest visit was for lunch with two friends who never dined there before. I asked them about the special…

Fantastic Birthday Celebration! by gabecortez via Citysearch on 8/13/2010

This Friday I took my wife to Charivari for her birthday celebration. This is a fantastic restaurant for any occasion but Chef Schuster and his wife, Maria, made this evening perhaps the finest dining experience of our lives. We had…

Great place for European food. by RotoWii via Citysearch on 2/15/2009

The lady and i went for Valentines day dinner. We had reservations at 6pm so the restaurant was not too packed yet. Service was exceptional during this point. As time went by, the service started getting slower and slower as the…

Wonderful Quaint and Awesome Food by wifeandi via Citysearch on 12/21/2008

Last night my wife and I were looking around on the internet for somewhere to eat, and LOOK what we found, a little spot of HEAVEN, the restaraunt is in a strip center but very lovely inside and accomodating, there is a sit up bar if you…

I wish I could give 0 stars. by mck28 via Citysearch on 11/22/2008

Did I miss something here? I moved to NYC and then SF and used citysearch to find some decent food in Houston because yelp isn't popular enough. I must say that something is very wrong in Houston if Charivari is one of the locals'…

A very special place by DLSims via Citysearch on 8/25/2008

Charivari has become a place very special to my wife and I. We have dined there on numerous occasions, a number of which were special occasions. We always end up choosing Charivari because we know that we can count on the service being…

Fantastic! by abbeylicious via Citysearch on 8/13/2008

Yes it is located in a strip center, no it's not in an old house or renovated church, but the menu BY FAR makes up for that. I had the lobster and after my first bite and had to sit back and take a moment because it was so good. Dined…

Truly Great Food by cb326 via Citysearch on 4/15/2008

First off the atmosphere isn't great. It's in a strip center (albeit an upscale one) and other than having white tablecloths doesn't make much of an impression inside either. But what it does have is great service and food. \r \r It's a…

Very Disappointed by snipdoggydog via Citysearch on 2/15/2008

After reading all the glowing reviews about this restaurant, my husband and I were excited to try it on Valentine's night. What a huge disappointment! There is nothing romantic about this place. It is one big room with lots of tables and…
