Located on Georgetown's historic waterfront, Colonial Floral Fascinations creates its floral artistry in a building that was constructed in the late 1700s. It was built by a merchant of that century who also used the space as a Jewish Prayer Room before the local synagogue, Temple Beth Elohim, was completed and when the Winyah Indigo Society building was not available. The building has housed florists since 1966 and under the ownership of Jeanette Ard since 1989, has evolved to give visitors a unique, friendly and welcoming experience. Not only does the shop contain distinctive floral creations, but also thoughtful gift ideas, original art work and home décor items. One singular feature of the available gifts is an extensive selection of hand made, imported cigars. This presents and opportunity for gentlemen to purchase a fine cigar for the evening, an outing or just to smoke while watching the boats go by from the back deck. The store is filled with alcoves that are like treasure chests to explore with each one having its own personality filled with carefully chosen goods. A customer can start in the front of the shop and wander towards the back, pausing to examine things more closely. Along the way, a bride-to-be can spend time in our Wedding Corner to plan her big day while sitting beside beautiful examples of vintage gowns. When they finally reach the back, there is yet another surprise, a Coffee Shop! Coffee is available all day long, brewed to order.
