Coloma Outdoor Discovery School

Coloma Outdoor Discovery School (CODS) is an outdoor education school that has provided educational programs since 1990. Our campus is located on the banks of the South Fork American River, across from the Marshall Gold Discovery State Historic Park, within the Coloma Resort.
We have designed three distinctive, highly structured programs run by skilled and dynamic outdoor educators who make it possible for teachers to have limited responsibilities during program. This gives classroom teachers the flexibility to float, observe, connect and enjoy watching their students learn in a new environment. Our programs can stand alone as a springboard to a new unit or the finale to complete a unit of study. Pre and post-trip activities are available to supplement curricular units.
